Marty and Julie Lapham, a dynamic husband-and-wife team, embarked on their entrepreneurial journey with the founding of Popzup Popcorn, marking the inception of an eco-friendly and chemical-free approach to popcorn. After years of experimenting with fresh ingredients, such as basil and various herbs, the couple was driven by a constant quest for innovation and new ventures. Their pursuit led them to family farms in search of the perfect kernel, culminating in the launch of Popzup Popcorn in 2016. Building on this success, in 2017, they introduced a range of popcorn seasonings crafted from real ingredients like herbs, maple sugar, and sea salt, marking the first of many family inventions. These seasonings, including favorites like Butter Me Up, Cheddar Head, Maple Cinnamon Toast, and Cheesie Herbie, quickly gained popularity in the brown bag, and found their way onto the shelves of local retail stores across New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and beyond. At Popzup, popcorn is popped in small batches by hand, using only the purest, simplest ingredients, such as real sweet cream butter, Vermont maple sugar, nutritional yeast, turmeric, and sea salt, ensuring each bite is a delightful experience. In 2022, the family welcomed Nolan into the business as the Chief Operating Officer, signaling a new phase of expansion and growth for Popzup.
